CRCICA and KIAC Conclude Memorandum of Understanding

On 31 August 2018, during the 6th East Africa International Arbitration Conference held in Addis Ababa, the Director of the Cairo Regional Centre forInternational Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), Dr Ismail Selim and the Secretary General of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC), Dr Fidele Masengo, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which aims to provide a framework through which the two arbitral institutions can develop a mutually beneficial relationship.  In this respect, Articles 1 - 4 include cooperation provisions on seminars, conferences and capacity building activities; exchange of information and collaboration in research as well as exchange of visits. 

Of particular relevance to the African Arbitration Association (AfAA), the MoU specifically provides at Article 5 that CRCICA and KIAC, “…shall make every effort to mutually cooperate in order to achieve the goals of the African Arbitration Association.”
